Booking Conditions

  1. Any part of the accommodation known as: “36, Rue de Blois, 41400 Montrichard” (The Property) is offered for holiday rental, subject to confirmation by Patricia Patterson and Martin Nixon (The Owners) to the renter (The Client).
  2. To reserve “The Property” the "Client" should complete and sign the booking form and return it together with payment of the initial, non refundable, deposit of 20% of the total rental due. Following receipt of the booking form and deposit the "Owner" will send a confirmation invoice and statement. This is formal acceptance of the booking.
  3. A security deposit of £200.00 for the rental period is required in case of damage to the property of the "Owners". The sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the "Clients" liability to the "Owners" and the "Owners" will account to the "Client" for the security deposit, the balance due to be paid within two weeks of the end of the rental period.
  4. The balance of the rent, together with the security deposit is payable six weeks before the start of the rental period. If payment is not received by the due date the "Owners" reserve the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled. The "Client" will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent unless the "Owners" are able to re-let “The Property”. In this event Clause 6 of these booking conditions will apply. Reservations made within six weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking.
  5. Any chargeable expenses arising during the rental period (e.g. Maid service) should be settled locally, in Euros, with the "Owners" before departure.
  6. Subject to clauses 2 & 4 above, in the event of a cancellation, refunds of amounts paid will be made if the "Owners" are able to re-let the property and any expenses or losses incurred in so doing will be deducted from the refundable amount. The Client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover). In addition the Client MUST have full cover for the parties personal belongings, public liability etc. as these are not covered by the owners insurance. If a U.K. resident it is also wise to ensure that each member of the party carries a European Health Insurance Card, obtainable from your local Post Office, in case of ill health.
  7. The rental period shall commence at 4 p.m. on the first day and finish at 10 a.m. on the last day. The "Owners" will not be obliged to offer accommodation before the time stated and the "Client" shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated unless prior arrangements have been made.
  8. The "Client" agrees to be a considerate tenant, to take good care of the property and its amenities and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. The "Owners" reserve the right to retain a part of the security deposit to cover additional cleaning costs to the norm if the "Client" leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
  9. The "Owner" will not be liable to the "Client" for:
    1. any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliances in the property.
    2. any loss or damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the "Client" if the house shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event the "Owners" will, within seven days of notification to the "Client" refund to the "Client" all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.
    3. any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents or to personal property.
  10. Under no circumstances shall the "Owners" liability to the “Client” exceed the amount paid to the "Owners" for the rental period.
